Advanced LED Cabinets
The DayStar LED cabinet is built specifically to protect its internal electronic components. Each cabinet is NEMA 4X style - designed to stand up to the most extreme weather and vandalism. Internal temperature is controlled with cooling fans and heating bars, extending the life of the electronics. Surge protection built into both the power input as well as the data input provides a safeguard from voltage spikes and surges.
LED Vandal Covers
The individual LEDs in a DayStar are protected from vandalism, graffiti and UV damage by a polycarbonate matte finish vandal cover. Unlike an exposed LED design, this vandal cover prevents damage from thrown objects and windborne debris. There is never any need to clean around and between the thousands of LED pixels should vandals throw egg, mud or paint at the display.
Versatile Displays
Double-sided LED displays have a parent/parent relationship, allowing different messages to be shown on each side. Scheduling software allows you to display messages at certain times; down to the minute and up to a year in advance! All messages and schedules are stored onboard the sign, preventing computer and power problems from affecting your display.
Video & Graphics Capabilities
In addition to text, your DayStar LED display can show your own video clips, animations and still images. Attract even more attention with an array of special effects for transitioning frames on and off the display. Create interest and movement designed to draw the eye to your message!
Time & Temperature
Serve your community while delivering your message! The current time, date and temperature can be displayed at any point and embedded with your own text or graphics. Temperature is derived from the included temperature probe attached to the sign. Time and date are derived from the internal clock with battery, and does not have to be reset in the event of a power-outage.
Adjustable Brightness & Scheduled Dimming
Your DayStar display is capable of automatic or manually set brightness; allowing you to tailor the display to the light levels and unique circumstances of your location. A light meter on each side of a double-sided sign allows their brightness to be adjusted individually; an important consideration for signs facing East and West. If using the manual setting, different brightness levels can be set for daytime and nighttime use. Your display can even be set to turn off and back on at certain times.
Graphics Library
With your purchase of a DayStar you also receive unlimited lifetime access to our LED Graphics Library. Our online library is stocked with hundreds of video clips, graphics and animations for your display. Save time and increase your sign's visibility by using our stock graphics for holidays and special events!
Security & Peace of Mind
Password protected software means that only authorized users can change the sign, even if your computer is in a shared or non-secure location. The software also features a "bad word checker" that will block offensive words in the event that the password is compromised.
Unlimited Software Training
Software training is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Easily extend the operating knowledge of your sign to other staff or refresh your own knowledge, and keep your display from falling into disuse.
Our DayStar signs are available in a wide variety of sizes to suit your specific needs. Our product line is divided into the Elite Series (0.7" pixel pitch displays) and the Premier Series (0.9" pixel pitch displays). You can learn more about pixel pitch at our LED Education Center.

DayStar Classic
All of the display sizes above can be incorporated into our DayStar Classic cabinet. This model consists of two different styles: the Classic I and the Classic II. DayStar Classic
Our DayStar Classic option combines a DayStar LED display with a monument-style setting. This look will complement more traditional architectures while providing all of the benefits of our standard DayStar signs.

Display Colors
DayStar LED signs are available with your choice of full-color, red shaded or amber shaded displays. Please speak with a Stewart representative to determine which option best suits your specific needs.
Communication Methods
With a Stewart DayStar, you use a computer to send text, images, video clips and animations to the sign, as well as scheduling when and how they appear. We offer several different methods of communicating between your computer and the sign.
The following factors are important when deciding on a communication method:
- The distance between your sign site and your computer or network
- The possibility of trenching or burying data cables
- The desire and/or ability to control the sign from one or multiple computers
- The speed and reliability of the connection
- The potential for additional costs associated with your chosen communication method

ID Cabinet Sizes
Each DayStar can be manufactured to include a cabinet designed to identify your organization. Identification cabinets are uniquely designed using your colors and symbol or logo.
ID cabinets are available in the following heights: 1', 1'6", 2', 2'6", 3', 3'6", and 4'
ID Cabinet Trim
Enhance the profile of your sign and complement your architecture with one of our trim options. Trim pieces utilize the same rust-proof aluminum and DuPont™ powder-coat finish as the rest of the sign cabinet.
ID Cabinet Changeable Letter & Panel Tracking
We also offer tracking attached directly to the face of the ID cabinet. This tracking can be used for changeable letters or word panels.

Many organizations work closely with sponsors to help fund their new DayStar sign. We offer a number of Sponsor Cabinets to recognize the efforts of people or organizations that have contributed.
