The Palm Springs Air Museum is a nonprofit living history museum dedicated to educating the public about the role Air Power played in preserving American liberties and way of life. The Museum preserves, exhibits, and flies aircraft from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Global War on Terror. A good portion of the aircraft in the collection are flyable.
The Museum has introduced and continues to develop programs for Coachella Valley youth. Offering the First Flight Experience for students ages 12 to 17 and advancing aspiring commercial pilots toward certification in the second-stage Fly Coachella Valley. This initiative has gained momentum as the nationwide need for aviation professionals continues to grow.
The Auen Learning Center (where the new display is installed) is a 200-seat general-purpose/education room and will feature classes with a curriculum that uses aviation and other STEM-related subjects to get kids excited about the humanities, including history, as well as the technical aspects of applying math and physics.
