Art Department File Formats

Stewart Signs offers the ability to accept and utilize your custom graphics. These graphics can be used as either Photorealistic art work or one dimensional artwork applied to the sign in vinyl.

If you are interested in utilizing a custom graphic for your new sign, please note the following requirements:

  • Mac (Macintosh) files are not accepted. Files must be saved in a Windows based file format.
  • Graphic files have specific file extensions (the file extension is the last 3 or 4 letters after the period in a file name.)
    Example File Name: eagle.gif

    A file with the last 3 letters of G I F are commonly referred to as gif files. Gif files are not high enough quality for reproduction purposes.

Customers are required to send files to Stewart Signs with one of the following file extensions.

  • .TIFF (must be 300dpi) and as close to actual size as possible "in inches", not pixels.
  • .JPG (must be 300dpi) and as close to actual size as possible "in inches", not pixels.
  • .PSD (Photoshop Document) (must be 300dpi) and as close to actual size as possible "in inches", not pixels.

The following file extensions must be saved as vector files and not as bitmap images.

  • .EPS (Encapsulated Post Script files are associated with Adobe Illustrator)
  • .AI (Adobe Illustrator)
  • .CDR (Corel Draw)
If a file is received with a file format other than those listed, Stewart Signs will not be able to open or work with the file.
